I know we can all be slightly sluggish in the mornings... we recently moved house and informed sky of our new address etc.. and have a couple of problems...

we still received bbc1 for the region we used to live....

and more frustrating...

almost every morning we have the 'No Satellite Signal is Being Received'... only way to cure is by switching off at the mains and resettting the unit. Everything works fine all day, but when sky do their night-time switch off.. thats when we get the problems...

any advice greatly welcomed...

btw.. we are only using the sky hd box for freeview as we still havent sold our old house ... one bonus is we can still use the sky+ recording facillity on the channel we are watching.

Do you only have 1 feed going into the box by any chance?

Yes, we do only have the one feed... could this be the problem!

you only have 1 feed, that really doesn't help matters at all with the box designed to work with 2 feeds. that said it's best you turn sky anytime off all together.

Another Trick that should work would be to hit the record button on the channel that your get no signal( which should occupy the tuner with no connection and force a channel change onto the other tuner), change channel and it should appear. then try to cancel the recording without changing channel using the search and scan banner, and you should be ok again.

You can also reset the box with the remote, if you do a planner rebuild ( services,4,0,1,select,7) the sky box will reboot and probably insure that the hard drive is inactive when the box reboot's.

It won't work without querks untill you have 2 feeds!

If you've got Anytime activated then this will use your one and only feed during the night and into the morning. As a result when you wake up and go to watch tv the box will try and take a feed from the second (non existent) input.
