Its because in America they also have a Spanish sound track and in Canada they also have a french soundtrack as well as the English soundtrack.
Thats why they have space on Reg 2 to fit a dts soundtrack :smashin:

    cheers Dave.

But they still have loads of space on the disc that would allow for a DTS track. I think it has more to do with getting people to buy more R2.
Dopn't forget that R2 regularly also has other language tracks on them.

They do consumer polls in America as well as over here and if a consumer doesnt find DTS important then its not going to be included on a disc.

True, but English only r2 disks are getting more common now which is leaving more room for DTS.

U think a major studio really cares about region 2 UK nope although there's money to be made here the bigger market is America and consumer polls asking what people want are big over there.

So if they don't care about the R2 market why do they bother to put a DTS track on when they don't bother for R1. It must cost them more money to put it on the disk so they must think there is a demand for it and they are responding to that demand.

DTS has supplied all the major studios with the encoders etc, the cost of adding a DTS track isnt so great as u would think, they care about the UK market but all i'm saying is the American market is bigger and thus being businesses thats the market they treasure the most, followed of course by all of Europe and the Far east is a growing huge market, the average consumer doesnt care if its got DTS or Dolby its home cinema fans like us that care and studios don't listen to us they listen to the mass market.

Films like 15 minutes, The Mummy Returns ((censored headbutt))
Sleeping Beauty collectors edition and countless others no doubt but reverse is also true, for example Fantasia collection is DTS in america but Dolby here and then theres films like Blade or Cutthroat Island or Cliffhanger which are only DTS in the far east, its best to have a multiregion player and using the internet choose the version u want.
