Does anyone have problems playing back divx on the Samsung HD950 as I have just read a couple of buyer reviews ( pricegrabber ) and they said that the machine wouldnt play Divx even though the box shows that it does.

The US model of the HD950 had this problem, didn't support divx. European model does play divx.

i have this model and it plays divx and appears to play xvid also, plus raw mpg files and mp3s. it wont play vob files unless authored as a dvd. the zoom function doesn't work on any dixv/mpeg etc files i've tried though, and i found my tv wont use the cinema zoom (this usually corrects non anamorphic ratio) through hdmi so i have to change over to scart to stretch the pic to the correct ratio (you can have scart and hdmi plugged in at same time, but have to go into settings to change output mode)

there are a few niggles about the machine, it won't show time left to play on a dvd, only elapsed time, and you have to manually switch pal-ntsc in the setup, and turn of a hdmi audio not supported nag each time you turn on the machine if you use hdmi (which i presume you will as it's the main point of getting the player). it also plays sacd and dvdaudio. decent build, and looks nice enough, and pic and sound are fine
