No Brightness Option For 32LM6300PLA LG TV

I need to be able to access and reduce the brightness on my tv, but there are no brightness options I can find. So many options which the guide says should be available simply do not appear in menus. Why cant I access what should be the most basic options for a TV? I have been to all settings, then picture mode and the only settings available are:
Picture mode settings
Aspect ratio settings
Energy saving
Picture test
Additional settings

Where additional settings has only one option:
Eye comfort mode

Where on earth is the brightness setting? Or any of the other settings for that matter?
