Onyko TXS SR313 board.jpg
My first post . but have checked Google and entered problem on the forum Search, little to help determine the cause of the failure. Unit ( TX SR313) in service since 2013 without any problems. Connected to Both Dish & Direct TV at different times and functioned great. The TV is Samsung LED with HDMI and AV Jacks also (8-9 yrs. age ) Several weeks ago the audio began to have Reverb sound and had to switch Sat. feeds back & forth to correct. 2 weeks later while watching DVR, the volume failed to increase or decrease with controls. Later that evening, both audio and video failed and only a Blue Screen. There was Optical and USB + HDMI cables in use. AM-FM audio delivered sound, but the unit did not deliver any output to TV. Purchased a new TX SR373 to replace and all is well. Any suggestions to guide to the defective part or assembly? Spoke with a Onyko Regional Repair Station tech who advised to scrap this unit, too costly to repair. Would like to repair if can be done inexpensively and at home. Limited skills but willing to try. Removed the outer case cover and discovered a discolored area on the large main? board below the HDMI Board and mid board. Viewing the unit from front ,it is below the center of the HDMI board , consists of what could be 2 diodes and 4 transistors?? Looks to have been very hot. Aware of the Cap. problems on HDMI board, but perhaps this is another problem? Have DVOM, 25 W. Iron and Rosin Core solder. Anyone care to share their expertise?
