Nintendo DS for £57

Fidelity card holders at DVDSoon can purchase a lovely Nintendo DS for a very tidy sum of approx £57. Just ordered mine and also 3 games (that are coming in at less than £18 so won't be hit by customs for them)

Obviously you will more than likely get hit by customs for the console, but it will stil come in cheaper than a UK one

pity the DS is completely crap :)

Played a DS about 2 weeks ago and omg, when will nintendo realise that most gamers are above the age of 3? they need to stop doing the same old rubbish over and over. Mario, Mario, Mario o and did i forget Mario?

The DS is gonna get destroyed by the PSP, graphicly and style the Sony machine is far superior. my only gripe with the PSP is another new media type, what was wrong with using HiMD or memory stick?

You need to go through the checkout. No need to purchase it, but it gives the discount for the I card and also a discount for buying the DS + game (even if you haven't purchased a game).

Pete

*EDIT*

Just heard that if you order the games "with" the DS (I hadn't!) then you get an even further discount. I cancelled everything then re-ordered, added an extra game and still have about $8 in my account!!!

Remember that DVDSoon write the pre-discount price on the package so if with discounts the games come just under the customs limit, you can be sure that when they arrive in the UK the price on them will be over the limit so you may get stuck with customs and post office fees.

How much does the fidelity card cost and is it worth it? How much would you need to spend for it to pay for itself?

petecowie

R.I.P.
card costs 50CAD$ £20-£25 but at the moment you get to pick two free dvds I got myself The Incredibles and Top Gun Collectors Edition, this more than pays for the Card and you also then get free postage on all purchases, plus the cost of dvds on dvdsoon is the best I have ever found also bought Saw for ~£6.50

That's very interesting. I'm tempted to get one and order a PSP value pack. Do you still get 20% on top of the 5%?

Can someone with a fidelity card tell me how much a PSP value pack would cost? :)

petecowie

R.I.P.
here the details from my PSP order, the catalogue number is PSP-1001K so this is the Value Pack.

Subtotal 1: $ 299.98 CAD
Carrier Fees
Standard $ 1.49 CAD
Box $ 1.00 CAD
Total Carrier Fee $ 2.49 CAD
Subtotal 2: $ 302.47 CAD
Coupons and Rebates
Membership Promo -$ 60.00 CAD
Free Shipping -$ 1.49 CAD
Total Rebate -$ 61.49 CAD
Subtotal 3: $ 240.98 CAD

GRAND TOTAL $ 240.98 CAD = 103.389 GBP :)

Of course there may be import duty etc on this so possibly £30-£40 import to pay. And remember first 1 million US PSPs come with a copy of the Spiderman 2 movie

I'm not sure whether to order from here or videogames +. They're charging £130 + del. But then their items tend to get through customs.

ow much would customs and excise be likely to charge, (plus royal mail handling fee I would suppose).

petecowie

R.I.P.
It works out about £30 plus royal mail fee hence the £30-£40 above, even with this it works out cheaper than videogames and you still risk paying customs on their £130 and the delivery cost.

I'd get a DS for £50. IMHO it's not worth more than that if you can get a PSP for £100.

The only thing that I'd be concerened about, is that they will ship your PSP via standard or first class shipping. I'm not sure your PSP would be sufficiently insured if it went missing. The only reason I'm thinking that is because even when you use rec del in the Uk, you're only covered up to £27. To get up to 500 you have to pay extra for special del. Standard and 1st class post gets you no cover at all. Order your PSP via DHL courier, (insured I believe), and it's an extra £30-35.

Hmmmm. It really could be time to get a fidelity card. However at these prices I am more convinced than ever that DVDsoon can only be operating at a loss. Get it whilst you can people.

I`m not interested in the DS (Although its very cheap) however the PSP pricing is very cheap, cheapest I have seen yet online delivered to the UK for the US console. I`m going to take a look at this now, thanks for the heads up !

My DS has been posted will let you all know how I get on with customs when it arrives. Just to convince you further have just ordered the following DVDs from dvdsoon

Shallow Hal
Me Myself and Irene
Something About Mary
Dr Dolittle 1
Dr Dolittle 2
Big Momma's House

Total Cost...... £7.75 :D

This is by picking the "laugh out loud collection" and the "farelly brothers collection" box sets. I have now ordered 25 DVDs, 1 DS, 1 PSP, 2 DS Games in the last week. Don't think I can afford to save any more money.

Am I right to think the 20% offer expires on the 20th of Feb? I might have to pre-order a PSP. If I don't want it I could always sell it on I suppose. Though I'm sure my brother would have it, (gave him my SP as I never really used it much).

It is the sender's responsibilty to ensure that the psp etc arrives. If it disappears in the post, they have to replace it.

Something amiss here. They seem to have pulled the fidelity card signups links. Cant seem to find a way to join anywhere

Harris, I thought that as well. You have to place an order for something, then sign up as you checkout.

Good stuff!
