I hope it is ok if I start this thread.

Ninety Nine Nights is out today, is out today! Is anyone getting this? I did get Dynasty Warriors and was disappointed.

The demo of NNN looked good though!

Do not pay attention to the reviews too much. This game is fun and looks gorgeous in parts.I have not yet got it but my friend is in love with the game and i watched him play for an hour earlier today.General feedback from forums(teamxbox etc) is that the game is a hell of alot of fun and severely under rated.

I will have to hold back as test drive and saints row have my game budget already :D

I got it today. Wasn't that impressed with the demo, but I'm swapping it for Saints Row next week so this will tide me over for the time being.

I really don't like games where you spend 30 mins or more getting to the end of the level where you get killed by the last enemy and have to restart the whole level which was approx 1700 enemies long.

I think I'll be picking this up, but only second hand from here...

I quite enjoyed the demo but can't justify a full price purchase for it.

Ok, I got it earlier, and really like it. It's not amazing, it's you killing thousands of dudes, with awesome looking combos, over and over again. I have to say, I don't get why people are saying that you get killed by super-hard bosses etc, because I actually completed it in one sitting as Inphyy, and didn't die once. Obviously a large part of this game is going to be replaying it as different characters, as the full story isn't revealed until you've done so. Many of the missions are new for each character, so you're not always playing the same thing over and over, and the characters themselves differ immensely from each other. I got 100 points for finishing the game, so it seems to be a good points-cow if nothing else, but as simple hack/slash games go, this is the one for me.

I think what people have trouble with is the fact that you require literally no strategy to get to the end of a level, at which point you have to use a strategy or you die. I suppose people have stopped paying attention by that point. I just kept in mind that it was a gripe people had, and made sure i didn't rush in blindly, and it wasn't an issue for me.

It's just annoying dying right at the end, especially when the levels are a) really big and b) have to be repeated quite a bit with other characters. Repetition is not a games friend.

That said, I am enjoying it. Bit of slowdown during the second level and some of the levels look like you're looking at backgrounds through water, but otherwise, it's fun.

Indeed. I completed it for another two characters today. It's not hard. I have yet to die once. It's distracting, colourful fun, and I like it.

I loved the demo but the full game just isn't worth the money

if it was priced at £29.99 like Dynasty Warriors then maybe i could live with that, i will be takuing my copy back and getting Saints Row

it's an ok game nothing more that becomes very boring very quickly

OMG this game can be SO annoying.

played with inphyy yesterday. got right up to her last level and died 4 times, which means 4 restarts right from the beginning. two of the deaths were at the last boss fight. the last boss fight in which i died i decided to go off before the last fight and try find some energy, which means spending 5 minutes of pressing the right trigger to dash in a last ditch attempt to move the character faster. i didn't find any energy. then i went back to the previous levels to level inphyy up a little and give her a better chance, and with a little luck i got the the final boss, kicked his butt and completed the game with inphyy:clap: .

next up was myiffe. completed the fist stage with him and saved the game.....:suicide: . hey, did you know you have to save each characters game on a different save slot? so that means you've gotta have 7 save slots for the game. i didn't, so i lost all of inphyy's stats, weapons and items. why the hell can't you just save the game on one slot?

so, the save system sucks, if you have a massive 3,000,000+ hit combo going and a cut scene kicks in you can't continue the combo, if you die you start right back from to beginning, the lip sync is so bad, so bad in fact that characters sometimes talk and you get no subtitles or sound, the game looks very blurry, even your character in the status screen looks blurry......i'm gonna stop bitching now or i'll bust a blood vessel.

i enjoy these types of games but this game just seems to be one step forward and two steps back. i don't know what mizuguchi brought to the development table for this game. hopefully it wasn't something in the above rant.

has anyone experianced this problem with n3.
I havent played it a lot yet so im only on the second mission. On that mission if i pick something up then push start and go to status the game crashes. This is incredibly anoying and means i have had to restyart this mission a couple of times. It worked fine once but i got killed stupidly, doh.

floaty, I'm in the exact same situation. It's so damn annoying. My kingdom for a health vial that regenerates every 400 enemies or so!

did anyone have a problem withthe demo of this game?

i keep getting graphical glitches in it, and am wondering if its the game or my xbox. my xbox has been on for 3 hrs downloading demos, but i would hope it isnt overheating!!!

tigerwoods 06 demo is doing thesame, but burnout & topspin seem ok.

Nearly done with the game, bar getting the replay value achievements. Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Very frustrating at times, especially with the magic user, but good fun overall.

Got this from gamestation for £30, bargain. I enjoyed the demo so got this as well as dead rising. I find it very addictive, tho all the flaws stated above are indeed valid. I've had to restart levels after dying at with the bosses but personally i dont mind as i enjoy the sheer carnage leading up to the boss. In general they designed the game to be run through a few times as you need it to level up and get better weapons etc.

Very enjoyable game imo despite the faults.

    *blows dust off thread*

Yeah i just picked this up from gamestation too for 30 notes, i played the demo to death and despite the terrible reviews i thought id see for myself and.....its not that bad!!! Its kinda like going to the kebab house after a saturday night drinking, you know it might not be the best idea but who cares it tastes good!

N3, when you take it for what it is a pretty mindless hack and slash adventure its ok Does it get boring? perhaps but its also really sweet to look at and some of the orb spark attacks are amazing, watching 100's of enemnies go flying never gets old!

I swapped topspin 2 for this the other day and suprisingly it's not too bad at all. Quite frustraiting though with no check points (which is one of my 'pet hates' along with having time limits in a game ie mace griffin: bounty hunter)

using the 'orb' attacks are very satisfying:thumbsup:
