    Hi,
Thought I would share my first few shots with the nikon nifty fifty.

    all taken at f1.8

Quite amazed by the dof :D

    1st shot is a piece of 2" x 1" batten with a nail hole

No pp apart from resizing to comply with forum rules ( I hope)

Lovely stuff. The 50 1.8 is superb for plant portraits. (actually portraits in general). Love the colours, and though the bokeh on the second one is a bit psychedelic, I really like it!

    Thanks to you both :)

The batten shot is a little under exposed but still looks quite good.

I should imagine that I will find myself playing about with the 50 quite often :D

Nice first shot - a really good demonstration of depth of field in action.
