Something I've been messing about with over the weekend, using my SB-800 to light my lenses. I took these at my computer desk with my D80 and Tamron 90mm macro handheld, holding the flash just below desktop level to avoid illuminating the desktop.

    #1: 50mm f/1.8D*

    #2: 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR*

I had to remove a little bounced light from the desk in post-processing, along with some dust. I used mostly Capture NX for the second shot, with Elements 5 used to de-dust and adjust the framing by adding some canvas bottom and left, while the first one was entirely worked on in Elements 5 and is uncropped.

*to avoid the 'which lens is this?' questions ;)
