    Guys,

I have a DENON AVC-A1SR with THX Ultra 2 cirtification. I would like to go down the THX route, as I dont listen to much music. Everytime I see a set of speakers with a THX badge on them, they look like DJ speakers from a wedding reception (without the neon tubing). I have all my kit in the living room, so nice decor is a must. Does anyone know of a NICE WOODEN THX speaker package, that look as nice as my existing B&W CDM7SE ?

    :(

The Mordaunt Short 500 Series THX Select System, looks very good in the cherry finish.
I friend of mine has these in his living room running off a Pio AX-10, they also sound as good as they look.

Why do you consider that you need THX Certified speakers?

Well, I keep being told by my dealer that inorder to use THX5.1 mode on my AVC-A1SR, i need THX speakers.

I've also heared that if you turn on THX processing without having THX speakers, the whole thing sounds a bit weired.

    AM i being bullsh*ted ?

Your dealer doesn't know what he is talking about. I have a THX amp but "ordinary" speakers and the sound is anything but weird.

maybe your dealer does know what he is talking about but is simply trying to squeeze some more cash out of you

It does sound like your dealer is after more of your hard earned.
