For the past three or more years in the Argos and Index(now gone) Catalogues It has show personal portable DVD players the ones with screens and on the features boxes it lists NICAM as a feature. How can a product with no tuner have NICAM? I thought it stood for near instantaneous companded audio multiplex and was the was high quality stereo sound was transmitted over the air waves to give near CD quality Stereo sound. QVC have sold the same Venturer players and on the companies own promo video a NICAM graphic came up. Acorrding to Argos on page 892 and 893 Hitachi Venturer Philips Bush Goodmans BUT NOT Wharfedale all have NICAM. If it's an error this is not a one off mistake because Argos have been doing this for years. If i am wrong and they do have NICAM then would someone please tell me how this works on a Portable DVD player I have emailed Both Argos and Venturer and wait there response on how they have NICAM.
