    Nic.
Was it you who posted a link re: 2 Servo's outperforming the HGS18? If so can you remember it, with all this HGS talk at the moment i have to say i am somewhat intrigued but am sure somewhere there is a reputable and exacting review/comparison that will save me at least £2000.

Hard work! The tutorial is enough to make you want to punch the bloke giving it in the mouth!!

I would recommend downloading the latest patch from the CARA site that allows you to model downfiring subs and hybrid speakers like my ML's. This was a significant weakness in the original. Haven't got far yet in using this new version but it looks more functional.

I'm not sure there are enough standard material surfaces included - there needs to be a wider selection. Also, I'm not convinced that the standard guidance of using the outermost surface only is correct, e.g., wallpaper. In my case, my ceiling has anaglypta paper on some kind of fibre board. If I stick to the guidance and set my ceiling to wallpaper, the only option is 'wallpaper on hard surface' or I use 'plasterboard'. It makes a big difference to the room reverberation calculation. Without the ability to measure surface acoustic absorption, it's a bit difficult to define your own materials with the supplied editor! Still interesting to see what differences can be made by simple changes.

I wouldn't mind a full discussion of this product, just don't have time right now - working!! I'd be interested in Nic's views. :D

PS Sorry to hear you've not been well, Nic. :( Hope you're on the mend! :)

Thanks for all the wishes guys, both here and by PMs. It has been almost 2 weeks now, I think I am on the mend, but it has been a hard few weeks. The wife has had it as well (though not a bad as me  ) and it has made the looking after of the twins 'difficult'! I will post more on cara when I have time.

    Nic.
    Indeed, best regards.
I have found CARA to be exhaustive but even if you choose not to follow through on "it's" design recommendations i have found it to be a source of yet more info!
