Hi hopefully a quick question re the storage readings of my Nexus 7.
If I click the stoage tab it says I have 699MB of Pictures/Videos even though I only have one little picture showing. Likewise if I click downloads it says I have 468MB but all I have showing is a 216KB pdf file. additionally if I click on the picture/videos tab it says No external storage available option cancel with my single picture underneath this message. How can I get it show the true figure? I can do it if connected to a PC but how if not near one?
    Thanks

    Have you cleared the cahce?

Settings - Storage - select cached data - clear data

Hi I tried that but it made no difference. So I had to revert to my normal method of connecting to the PC and deleting items from there.
Whilst I am here you may be able to answer another question. I downloaded MX Player as that was recommended for playing videos on the Nexus 7.
I then copied a video over in MPEG4 format. It then tells me can't play this video.
    Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks

Have you tried deleting the media storage (settings- applications- all - media storage) clear the data, force the media library to rebuild. It might sort it.

It depends on the codec of the MPEG4. It should play no issues. Does the stock video player work with the file? You could also try Dice Player to see if that works.

I find BS Player Free is the next best video player after MX. MX should play xvid, h264 and mpeg 4 codec.
