I have just booked in a viewing for a Panny 6 model on Wed.

They have their Sky hooked up in the demo room with SVideo. Surely this is not a good thing...?

Svideo is actually not that bad a connection type, it uses similiar principals to component.

    Regards,
    Neil.

I concur... S-Video looks just as good as RGB scart on my plasma, and I wouldn't like to do a blind test with YPbPr component! The only thing that really makes a difference is progressive scan via component.

Mind you, I still wouldn't touch composite video with a barge pole.

S-video often seems to suit TV pictures. I had a borrowed PW5 at home for 3 months and couldn't better the s-video picture from NTL via RGB-S-video converter, switched thro' my amp. Convenient when you have an s-vhs recorder. Only my progressive scan DVD or the HCPC was noticeably better. But I'd like to see that demonstrated if it were me, surely they have more than one way?

viewing sky pics on a plasma will never give you crystal clear quality the signal is just too compressed to get the max amount of channels on each transponder. i doubt you could have that much of an improvement from s video to component

I got a call back from NexNix today - they said they are now on RGB not Svideo.
