NEWS: Wharfedale announces EVO4 speaker series

The AMT drivers seem to be coming more common in normal speakers these days, rather than just high end and pro speakers.
The midrange drivers look very similar to the midrange units used in ATC loudspeakers which are top notch.

They look spectacular in the white finish... and I’ll be having a listen to their tweeter.

'Bass response is further enhanced by Wharfedale’s SLPP (Slot Loaded Profiled Port), whereby the lowest frequency energy is vented to a slot at the base of the speaker, specially profiled to equalise the high internal pressure to the low pressure in the room. This results in lower distortion than a typical ported bass reflex systems and because the air is dispersed uniformly in the room, speaker positioning is less critical '

Nice to see effort being made for easier speaker positioning. This should be high on the list for all manufacturers and is often sidelined. Yes in AV setups we have the room calibration but the simple fact is the less the software has to try and fix the problems the better end results will be.
