That's a terrible line up. I won't even give it a chance. Time to just let it die.

I liked Rory and think the chemistry last season was actually quite good. Guess they are making plans for when Matt le blanc leaves.

      Disappointed.

They're probably hoping to recapture the comedic element by hiring McGuinness.
You can't compete with Clarkson, Hammond and May though, sorry to say but Top Gear died when they left.

They're obviously hoping Freddie fits in Top Gear better than he does his Lambo.
I guess the beeb putting him and Paddy together means they are going for the 'everyman/lad' appeal. And Rory will get those smaller fit sports cars.

I only recently watched through all of the recent top gear. Chris, Matt and Rory actually worked pretty well shame they had to change it again.

This just screams of desperation and is showing that when Clarkson and co get released from their amazon contract they will be surely back at the helm.

I actual thought the last series had legs and thought it would only get better. I don't know why they are changing the cast as Matt and Chris were starting to gel or so I thought.

Ah well, YouTube has plenty to offer real car enthusiast these days. I'd rather watch ECotY again, which is sensational by the way and I really hope they manage to do another one; not sure how right now.

I see Alex Goy has bought a Morgan 3 wheeler. Hope he does a few reports on this because that looks like an absolute scream. He'd be a far better TG presenter than these pair combined!

TG = dead2me. Harsh, but fair.

There's certain people TV stations seem intent on making household names. They used to try it with Jonathan Wilkes who was terrible but they insisted on giving shows.probably because he was Robbie Williams mate not that he ever mentioned it.

It's the same with Freddie Flintoff he seems to be on so much and he's just as bad, wooden useless, as for Paddy Mcguiness I'm sure he's mentioned once or a thousand times he's Peter kays mate.
As said above loves himself but pretty useless in his own right. I think there sposed to be seen as one of the lads.

      I can't watch this now.

I've been really enjoying Matt and Chris, to a slightly lesser extent Rory. Matt is actually excellent and I'm disappointed he's leaving.

McGuiness, however, not a fan of him. When I worked in a cinema in Manchester one of the girls on the ticket counter came asking for help as some guy was insisting on being let in through the fire exit in case he got mobbed and she had no idea who he was. Turns out it was Paddy McGuiness acting like an idiot. We had far bigger celebs than him come in and he was the only one to insist he be kept away from the public. Tool.

I'm surprised they feel the need to bring in new presenters. Matt Le Blanc did say that this next series would be his last as he didn't like the filming / travelling commitments. Pretty sure Chris and Rory would've coped just fine by themselves. I do hope they don't have Eddie Jordan on it too much, he is just cringeworthy, his 'interview' with Berni was so, so bad and he never adds anything to any of the segments he appears on. Sabine is OK for the odd test but I hope we don't see too much of her.

I can see why the BBC went for these. As has been mentioned they are hoping for the fun to be center placed. But forcing fun is not how it’s done. Hell even when JC and Co. forced it, it didn’t work.

It only leaves Chris who can drive, fit in a sports/hyper car to review it. Neither of those two will be any good at track driving. They may have tested ok in the studio but it’s not for me.

I don’t mind Freddie but Paddy is a £&@“. Never firgure how a holes like him cheat on partners as hot they are currently with. I’ll watch him all day in Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy. Presenting? Hell no!!

I didn’t like Rory’s studio presentation, it was still too stiff, but I thought the OSB stuff was very good. His Japan section was easily his best and I really thought he was excellent in it. He was getting better and now he’s stuck doing Extra Gear which should die. It’s appauling.

James would be my choice too. He can have fun, knows his cars, and can “present” naturally. Sadly the BBC thought he was worth squat and took advantage of him (according to him) so when he walked from Saturday Kitchen he kinda burnt his bridges.

So nah, I ain’t even giving this a chance.

I'm willing to give this group a chance. I quite like some of the capers from A League of Their Own, so perhaps it will have some of that feel.

One thing i will not be watching is the next series of The Grand Tour. What a colossal waist of money that has been. Clarkson and Co were well past their best on the Beeb, its just been more of the same on Amazon. A lot of cringe worthy spare of the moment fun. That wore off long ago. They should have turned the show into a motoring/travel show long ago in my opinion.

The news was posted in the Top Gear thread early in the morning and with loads of comments on it before this thread was opened later in the day I can see the need for two threads on the topic.

There's a nice block, usually on Channel 4, that knows his stuff and is very likeable and that's Guy Martin. I could watch Top Gear with him at the helm but McGuiness forget it, I'd prefer Jacob Rees-Mogg, he's funny as soon as he opens his gob.
