Looks really fine. LSPX-S2 already was an interesting hybird of design and purpose, and its successor seems to continue this vision. I am really looing forward to first reviews.

It’s worth noting that Sony does not classify the device as a light and states the product is ‘not suitable for household room illumination purposes’.
How depressing is the fact that this statement is required? A society thats so litigious that you have to warn that hot chocolate is hot or a hybrid light/speaker cannot be counted on as a light is so wrong.

It’s sensible to warn prospective buyers that your table-lamp styled speaker which actually has light output is not actually designed to be used as a table lamp.

When people buy something that isn't what they expected either because they misread design cues or the manufacturer did not adequately explain the purpose, they return the goods as faulty/not as advertised, and the retailer is forced to resell them as opened goods at discount. Not good for business. Only a very tiny minority would go so far as to file a lawsuit before they've exhausted their consumer rights.
