A new (2019) panel most likely, and a new stand ...What the difference between the old AF8 & this new AG8
Sony Website don't list any differences when you compare them apart from the AF8 audio has 5x10watt and the AG8 audio has 4x10watt

Is that it if so that's poor!
Sony changing the model name from AF8 to AG8 and sticking a "New 2019 model" sticker on it got make it worth an extra £500 aloneIs that it if so that's poor!
I guessing it will have the faster chip to speed up Android. Perhaps it will have 4 full bandwidth hdmi inputs instead of 2 on the AF8. In any case as it gets close to release Sony will release a more detailed spec sheet. Of course this spec sheet won’t go into brightness, and other detailed specs. For that we have to wait for reviews. When I see it on the US Sony Premium Home site, sonypremiumhome.com, I may post a link here. Refer to that web site for AF8/A8F spec sheet. What the difference between the old AF8 & this new AG8

You are correct, X1 Ultimate on the A9G. But there is also a Mediatek chip for use by Android and I think this may be updated. Most people in the US don’t know about this Premium Home site and don’t see the spec sheet. This web site is actually for professional custom installers, but Sony lets the public access the site. So kudos to Sony for this site.It got the same X1™ Extreme chip as the AF8

It has not been updated on the AG8, nor the HDMI ports. Still the same platform as before ...You are correct, X1 Ultimate on the A9G.
