NEWS: Panasonic launches JZ1500, JZ1000 and JZ980 OLEDs for 2021

No Way....how much, must be a place holder !!!!

£3,640.95 for the 65" seems odd for a pricing, why not 3499 or 3999

o_O:confused:o_O:facepalm:
Sounds like cobblers.

Yes sounds like very odd pricing, although I have heard of this shop before. The only thing I’m getting slightly worried about is if Panasonic are positioning the JZ1500 at A90j prices and the JZ2000 as more expensive than both. I personally think JZ1500 should be cheaper than A90j

Yeah, so about 3K Sterling for a JZ1500 65", that's about what I would expect.

I had an email earlier from the Panasonic Reseller and he confirmed the UK TX-65JZ1500 will be £2999

So going by XE converter, I would say the prices above from DK are a good ref for UK costs :)

Panasonic: 4K OLED TVs for 2021 also have 48 inches and HDMI 2.1 is also aimed at demanding gamers

Jz1500 for me 😁

I am looking to buy an oled in the next few weeks (just waiting to move house) and settled on a panasonic

I don't want the on board atmos and speakers (or look of it) and had pretty much settled on a hz1000 . Although would love the pro panel I'm apple tv and off board sound so treat my tv as a monitor.

But this has changed every thing . Going to get a stop gap for a year (hz980 @ £1439) then wait for the jz1500 to be reviewed and come down over the next year 🤞
Haha that's exactly what I am planning on doing as well :rotfl:
I was struggling to decide bezween an LG CX or a HZ 1000. I would get both at a very good price but the CX is another 200 bucks cheaper. I now bought a CX again (first one went back because of uniformity issues) because I need a TV right now since I don't have one at the moment and I ge the CX for a ridiculously good price. The LG probably has the best resell value if I decide to get JZ1500 once the good deals start again on black friday or next spring.
The new panel seems to have quite some potential and I bet Panasonic will use it the best with their superior picture processing, I guess the JZ1500 woould truly be a TV I could be happy with for a decade.

How is Panasonic upscaling comepared to LG and Sony? I have a C8 and 1080p upscaling is bad and that's why I'm leaning towards a new sony

Definitely better than LG, and probably slightly better than Sony, maybe on a par with them.

I can lend my view, having owned a Sony A8 for about a month and now owning a Panasonic HZ1500.

Panasonic upscaling is very good. Certainly nothing to worry about. Sony's upscaling is slightly cleaner and sharper than Panasonic's, especially with SD source material.

Sony's motion handling is a bit better than Panasonic's (slightly less SOE on the lowest setting and a slightly superior BFI implementation). This is only relevant with 50Hz broadcast content. With 24p content both are excellent and you really can't pick between them.

Panasonic wins out in two areas:

1) Near black performance. Panasonic OLEDs have greater insight and shadow detail, while the Sony crushes blacks and suffers from near black flashing and posterisation. The Sony's near black handling was the deal breaker for me.

2) Accuracy. Both before and after calibration Panasonic OLEDs offer greater accuracy. Sony OLEDs will still calibrate well, if you want to pay for professional calibration, but not as well as Panasonic.

So pick your poison. Which aspects of performance are most important to you? Is Sony's slightly superior motion and upscaling a worthwhile trade off for near black issues that can't be calibrated out? Those are questions I'd focus on.

I’ve had the pleasure of owning both brands of TV so this explanation is spot on. As I mainly now watch HD/UHD content so my current TV is a Panasonic GZ2000. If you watch a lot of SD content then Sony is little better.

So looks like reports that the HZ1000 will be making a 2022 appearance may be correct. although the 980 is also missing, Was so tempted to wait but glad I jumped in with the HZ1500 now and will see if it's worth an upgrade in 22/23

You mean the JZ1000? Well the interesting ones are the 1500 and the 2000 models anyways because only they get the brighter panel and the heatsink. I doubt that there will be much difference between your HZ1500 and the JZ 1000.
