That's a nice £500 drop on the 55" B8/C8 models from last year. Hopefully we will get down to <£1200 by Black Friday.

Looks like LG is really worried about Samsung’s QLED if they are undercutting them by that much on release.

Prices aren't bad but compare them to Panasonic's prices for their upcoming Oleds and you realise the pricing is still a touch high.

65" GZ950 will be 2500 while the B9 65 is 3000 while probably coming out a month after.

I feel like the 77C8 was a bargain. £2500 cheaper.

Thought the 77C9 would start at £6999.00 for sure.
Hope it drops by August .

Don’t forget the £500 cash back offer they had last year at launch.

I’m liking the C8 65” price, I can live with that even at launch.

Not undercutting the Q90R at all it's the Q90R that is overpriced .. if Samsung weren't such greedy b's £3299 WAS A SENSIBLE PRICE AT LAUNCH 65 INCH.

It's usually a difference in stand design, but I'll try and get confirmation.

Or perhaps economies of scale are kicking in now that sales of OLEDs have firmed up.

I would go with the cheaper & better built Pana OLEDs, than LGs offering, if buying this year.

No major improvements, even admitted by LG themselves, so is it worth even upgrading, unless of you have the first gen LG OLEDs.

Given the OLED77C9PLA looks like it is $6999 stateside £7499 seems a bit of a pee take, no?

Little bit early to be making judgement calls yet, no
have you seen any of the GZ Panasonics in the flesh? ‘Better built’ seems like a long stretch, when you consider the FZ series were made with ashtray quality plastic and squeaked when touched.

Very difficult to compare price and quality, especially on release. Given that the Panasonic’s aren’t expected to launch until well into June/July, the LG’s will have dropped by then.

The shootouts this year will be even closer.....

I'll take the OS of the LG over anything from Panasonic! It's usable by my Wife... which is the most important thing.

Now to decide if I really need the 65" model... and then is it B or C!!

Don't know what the Samsung 4k flagship is going to be like yet compared to OLED but the 75 inch Q90R which I'd assume they'd pitch as a competitor is RRP £4999. That's a massive chunk less at launch. Strange with the 65 in being more expensive than the LG
