Ah Black Friday sadly with so many restrictions due to you know what, there will be fewer chances to see people carrying large tellies out of supermarkets that they had no intention of buying but were dumb enough to be lured by the bargain.

Consumerist rubbish trying to sell overpriced tat which is invariably cheaper a few days or weeks later. Gets a quick extra price hike before Black Friday so it looks like a deal.

Increasingly at Amazon and eBay it’s just Chinese sellers using fulfilled by and the products are rubbish too.

If you’re going to spend, give the money to somewhere like Richer or the major homegrown brands or try to use the ‘sold by Amazon’ filter and stop this influx of trash.

No, but I'd imagine that there'll be plenty of people fighting over toilet rolls and rushing out of food retailers brandishing bulk purchases of pasta shapes?

With a lot of retailers already posting discounts on TV's, is this likely to reduce further on the actual day or do people think the discounts retailers are showing will be what they will stay at?

New to the AV scene.....Do AV retailers normally have set items on sale on the week leading to Black Friday.
Looking to pull the trigger on a Denon AVRX1600H.

I think past selling strategies will be distorted this year due to Covid, stock availability, the recession and whether or not new models will be released next year.

Black Friday, traditionally in USA when retailers accounts are in the "Black" after 11 months of trading, so they are able to sell near to cost price.
Aside from Amazon, many traders may struggle to survive this year, so be careful to price history check any bargains.
That said I've already snagged a few.

Some great savings on LG's CX range. Apart from the 48", which stubbornly refuses to budge.

did read the other day on some ukhotdeal posts that some big brands knock out stuff with cheaper components specifically for black friday....i was looking at washing machines in particular but apparently it happens with laptops too

models 'exclusively' available from currys for example were mentioned

looks like youre best checking model numbers...how long and how widely available they are...as well as previous prices.

Richer Sounds offer a price beat guarantee for 14 days after purchase.
Has anyone used this in the past to buy before Black Friday and then beat any Black Friday drops?

I have recently been impressed with their after sales customer service and have no doubt they will be good to their word subject to the T&C.
