I rather think that B&O consider their revised Beogram 4000c as a serious turntable. I know I took my B&O tangential TT (a different, cheaper, model) quite seriously.
Although it's likely that some of the price is for the name, design and exclusivity, that doesn't make this B&O "unserious". Rather one just needs to factor these considerations into the total cost of ownership.
I wonder why B&O don't consider making a new version of the Beogram 4000c, like Technics did with the SL-1200GAE and spinoffs.
A Snip? as Oscar wilde once said, " i am easily pleased, the best is always good enough" not that i think this is going to be anything like the best, will help used prices on ebay i suspect.
