TalkTalk charge for P&P for their free Router?

Nice tool though. I've just negotiated TalkTalk to £25 per month as a loyal customer for the next 24 months so I'm happy nobody else is beating them

Are you going to give away a plush toy moderator for each purchase through referral.

On a serious note, you should include postcode. Because I have just tried it and it offered a number of packages from Virgin which aren't actually available because they don't have fibre in my street.

      Cheers,

      Nigel

Aren't Sky only doing SkyQ now? I believe the prices are for SkyQ because that's the only kit available.

Postcode entry still offers me that Hyperoptic even though they aren't in my area. Doesn't offer me Virgin which is correct.

Needs a sort order as well if possible like high/low price

      Clearly I did :)

Just tried again and it does not include Virgin. One thing I have noticed is that the Telephone filter doesn't seem to work. If I leave it as 'Everything' I get hits. But if I select anything else, like 'Weekends and Evenings' or 'Anytime' then the search says there are ZERO products that match - which is clearly untrue as I have one of them now.

      Cheers,

      Nigel

I don't understand how it works, or doesn't....I put my post code in, shows me 58 results, I put my fibre filter and unlimited filter in, and evenings/weekends for telephone and it shows 17 results. Yet none of the results are for talk talk nor BT who are the only providers in my area. I used to be on talk talk and now on BT. Most peculiar and something not right.

Also as this is AVForums, it maybe worth having the filter to suitable for 4K streaming or not. For example (not that I can get it), but this hyperotic provider comes on top; yet its speed on fiber is not appropriate for 4K content streaming. Some people may get disappointed if they don't make that translation themselves.

I dunno I thought it did what I asked. I don't want to know the ins and outs of every provider (I can figure that out once I make a closer inspection) All I want to know is where in the sliding scale does the monthly costs land and this tool did just that.

I pay 25 per month for fibre the closest rival is plusnet who also charge 25 so my deal is good and not worth the move. Simples.

4k streaming is niche if you ask me.

4K/UHD streaming niche? You better tell Sky Q, Amazon and Netflix that :p And this is avforums after all, not mums net.

I do think the tool should at least provide providers that actually provide the services in your area, not including those that do and including those that don't make it rather pointless...It may be an anomaly in my area but rather essential I would have thought...

Doesn't seem to work or it's paid/advertiser prioritised, put my post code in and tells me hyperoptic is the cheapest at £18 a month, not only is it not available to that postcode they also have no packages at that price.

Yer agree pal. But is the whole idea to compare prices rather then specifics. I spent a few hours a couple of days ago with a sheet of paper doing what this tool has done in minutes. Baring the Hyperoptic oddity which I never even heard of before using this it was a hard slog around all the provider sites and cashback sites.

Totally agree, but then no postcode would be required, and all providers need to be included. Not having BT andTalkTalk is weird and seems like bug to me.

BT and TalkTalk was on mine. Maybe a screen scrape or data drawn from samknows issue?

It appears the new app needs refinement.

Also, since the introduction of the head banner, main board page population takes 5 seconds.

It seems pretty broken for me.

If I filter on fibre it only comes up with a 38Mbit Plusnet deal. That's not going to impress BT who I'm using right now to type this message or the fact I get 80Mbit quite happily. Pretty certain I can get all the other providers too.

Like any new software launch, we did fully expect bugs to be picked up, so do appreciate all feedback.
I have passed on some of the comments above to the development team and will feedback when we have an update.
      Thanks.

      Feedback from the development team.......

@Bacus - All sky TV deals now include Sky Q as standard and the old Sky+ boxes are no longer available which is why we only show Sky Q deals.

@DarenD - In response to whether they charge for their free router I believe this is what the £9 upfront cost is for.

@nheather - There is a postcode checker which should keep up to date data on the available digital services in your area.

@DarenD - The tables are automatically ordered from low to high price

@nheather - We couldn't replicate this error, as Filter 5 seems to work fine on all of our tests.

@dejongjAn external company called SamKnows provides the information on the postcode search option. These are constantly updated with the information they receive however may be wrong now and again. As for a 4k streaming filter this is not available. It would be difficult to determine those that are suitable as speeds vary a huge amount depending on where you are for every provider.

@shango - The Hyperoptic deals have recently been changed to coincide with their recent price update so their deals should be correct now. As for the postcode issue an external company called SamKnows provides the information on the postcode search option. These are constantly updated with the information they receive however may be wrong now and again.

@VisionMan - Not sure on the issue here. Page loading seems fine to us on all tests. Perhaps it’s your computer/service provider.

@xxGBHxx - Again apologies, but not sure why you are seeing this as BT and many other providers are appearing in the list when the filters are set for broadband and fibre deals on all tests here.

@Louis Reeves I did check with Samknows and get very different results ;) I suggest whoever does the integration double check they've done it correctly...

Regarding 4K, you are bringing back the speeds, if you know that then you'd also know that some are simply not fast enough despite labelled as fibre. Anyway it was only a suggestion to make it relevant to this site.

Good to hear how the tool works as I thought samknows might be somewhere in the mix.

As for the 4k streaming the only context I can put it in is both me and my parents are connected to the same exchange and are both with Talk Talk. I'm about 400yds away my parents are 2 mile. I get about 40meg they get 1.5. Talk Talk only give a theoretical average like all other providers. As always we are still reliant on BT and their copper wires unless your in a cable area. I still know people in the Dales that can't get internet at all never mind a mobile phone signal.

Are the tables listed from low/high before any special offers are applied?

But if they are only getting 1.5 then surely the estimate for their location said so didn't it?

You can drive a bus through some of these estimates I reckon they are so vague for fear of losing the sale.

Also that's a estimate for coming out of the exchange. If there is a fault on the line which BT won't fix because it's uneconomical then It can cause issues with speed.
