So, I'm moving in to a new apt. and want a nice PJ setup. here's a simple diagram of the room: http://s87365065.onlinehome.us/lr.JPG I was thinking mounting the PJ on the wall on the right, or ceiling, and having the screen pull down (or roll down via switch) over the sliding window on the wall on the left. Viewing distance will be 90-120" Theoretically the room allows me to have a screen as wide as 120" and 90" tall. This is obviously too big, as it would mean 67degrees wide, and 45 degrees from top to bottom (from about 12degrees below eye level, to 33 degrees above) OK. So, screen diag size should be ~60", based on the 1.5x viewing area recomendations. However, THX recommends 36 degrees width, which means width can be ~58". If width = 58", then 16:9 screen can be 32", and since it's recommended that the screen goes to ~20 degrees above eye level, the bottom of the screen would be almost near eye level, with the top being ~32" or 20 degrees obove. Are my calculations correct? Q2: given a ~$2500 budget, what are your recomendations for a PJ/screen?Thanks!
