Newbie to HTPC, just orderd an Elonex Artisan

I am thinking about getting into HTPC and saw the thread about the Elonex Artisan cases.

I Decided to order one on the spur of the moment!

I now need to work out what I need to get it going.

I really want it for playback of DVDs in HD (upscaled?)
Downloads and playback of HD material
Wireless internet (I already have a wireless network)
music

What sort of components would people recommend? I have never actually built a system before.

wouldnt buy processor//memory until you know what motherboard you got in it first

assuming it is the motherboard mentioned in the other thread, how do these components stack up? I have looked mainly at DABS so far......
