    Hello All,

I have a Philips analogue television and a Humax digibox for Freeview. If I buy the Toshiba RD XS24, which seems to be good value, will I be able to:

record one Freeview programme while watching another Freeview programme?
record a Freeview programme while watching a non-Freeview programme?
tolerate the noise of the fan?
find the machine reasonably easy to use?

Another point is that I couldn't seem to find if the Toshiba has an EPG.

If anyone has any other suggestions to make, I'd be grateful. I don't need High Def or anything fancy.

    Best wishes.

As far as I know the RD-XS24SB does not have a DVB (Freeview) tuner...Analogue only...so you could record a Freeview channel from your Humax and watch Analogue from your TV...but you cannot record one Freeview channel and watch a different one.

    Hi Jaycee,

Ah, that explains why the model is going pretty cheaply. I'll have to do some more research.

    Thanks for your help.
