    Hi,
Buying a amp/speaker set tomorrow and just looking for advice.

Basically my room is very small, so I dont want to spend too much money on seperates, I just need a decent, surround sound package that will sound good on dvds/xbox/gc/ps2.

Im really interested in this Sony as it has Pro Logic 2 included, anyone on here got it and recommend it?

Thanks, want to make my first surround purchase a good one :)

    Hi

I’ve been trying to get hold of one also. Anyone got one yet? Empire Direct messed me about for 3 weeks so I cancelled. I see Unbeatable.co.uk have them on their site for less money (£199) but couldn't tell me when they will have stock. Any other site's I should know about?

    Thanks

    Chris

I have had one of these systems for the last 2 weeks. i have been very impressed. I am still in the tweeking stage, but the sound id already very good. I would highly recommend this system to anone who is interested in an "out the box " cinema solution.

In the interest of trying to stir up a bit of feedback on the Ht-k25, I'm going to bump this thread again! Has anyone else got any feedback, or is dongagon's the last word??

    Cheers

    Hi all
Hifi bitz have the ht-k25 for £199.99.
Dont know if this is similar but i installed the sony ht-k170 with a phillips 763sa dvd player in my sons bedroom 17'x12 and for what it cost sounds great and its plenty loud enough.
    Hope this helps Gonzo.

    Warning:

I had a Sony HTK system (can't remember the number, it was the one with the half-sized amp). Something like HTK-215.

Although the sound was excellent, the amp had a fan which comes on when it's hot. The problem being, the fan whirrs on and then off every 3-4 seconds - very annoying!

Yeah, I had heard elsewhere some comments on the amp of the htk 25 getting v hot - someone on the digitalspy forums mentioned that theirs caught fire during the night (perhaps a lesson not to leave it switched on overnight?.........). Tho sound wise it seems to be getting uniformly positive feedback - plus any setup I get is going to have to be on the neat size (speaker wise), another thing in the htk's favour.

    Decisions decisions........

(not that I actually have the money to buy anything at the mo - just planning ahead for next month :)

    Cheers

I have had mine since feb and have been very impressed, by looks and sound.

i paid 199 for mine, and have it connected to my sky digi box via phono leads and set to Pro logic 2, although you need a signal that is true pl2 the box does a good job or trying to convert it.

but it comes into its own when connected to a dvd player, excellet sound.

its easy to setup and can be put nearly anywhere.

i woud go for it, nothing comes close for 199:smashin:

Well... wish I'd seen this thread earlier...

I have the HTK-25... I actually use it in my study for my PC and XBOX...

I got it for £185 from unbeatable, they soon put the price up after that weekend!!!

It really is excellent.. for small rooms, the sub is more then enough, and its performance in 5.1 is good for its price...

I listen to music in DPL II, and it really is suprisingly competant...

If I had a small room, or just wanted a good start in Home Cinema, I'd recommend it..

It did take a little setting up though, getting teh sub level right was hard, and it certainly needs a few hours 'running' in before the Sub sounds OK...

Its main competitor must be the Digitheatre, but having now heard both, the sony is much better all round IMHO...
