Hi everyone, I'm new so please bear with me. I have a really stupid question that you will all probably scoff at, but I would really like an answer. I am about to purchase a CD player: http://www.netelectrics.biz/product.asp?ProdID=3977&CtgID= This is an 80 watt per speaker system with a 200 watt subwoofer. It's only for my bedroom, so it should be loud enough and the quality should be reasonable. But I have 4 other speakers in my room. 2 Sony 80 watt speakers from a previous CD player and 2 more Acoustic Solutions speakers that I bought ages ago. Now I know that connecting speakers in parallel works fine and the music effectively doubles if you use 4 speakers instead of 2. But I was wondering -- is it safe to use all 6 80 watt speakers from the CD player? I mean 3 speakers instead of 1 per each jack. What effect would that have on the CD player? Would it damage the built-in amp? Would the quality suffer over a long time? Would it burn out my speakers? Or would it simply use up more energy? It would obviously give better sound because I could put the speakers all around my room, but is it advisable? And if it is, then should I put all 3 speakers into the speaker jack in the CD player, or should I connect them in series? In other words connect one speaker to the CD player and another speaker to that speaker (but not directly to the CD player) etc. Thanks a lot for helping out a total newbie.
