newbie question

I've bought an ex-demo Phillips dvdr880 (I know, I know but it was dirt cheap).

All went well until I tried to finalise it to try it in our Aiwa HTDV90.

First there was no finalise option in the 880 (is this 'cos it was a +rw, rather than a +r ? )

Then the disc would play OK on the phillips and our Sony re-writer, but not the Aiwa.

Am I missing something here, like +rw's can only be used in a writer and can't be finalised like a +r, or is there something up with the Phillips ?

TIA

Peter

I've just had a look at your DVD on the compatability page on www.dvdrhelp.com and it is listed as NOT being compatable with DVD-RW or DVD+RW disks. It should however work fine with DVD+/-R disks.

Thanks Mark
I'll Try that.

The thing about the lack of finalise on a +rw is strange though.
Maybe I'm comparing it to cdrw's ?

Well the dvdr worked !

However, the scan on the dvd player won't work.
Would this be a limitation of my dvdplayer, or the type of media (Packard Bell - made for them by ? ) ?
