I have the following kit that currently is cobbled together and I'm sure I am not getting the most out of the set up

    Panasonic 42 plasma with 1 x vga, 1component and 1 x scart boards
DVD (Pioneer DV575) connected by component to TV . Sound to amp
Sky box conencted via JS RGB to VGA converter box to vga board
    Video connected by scart board
Sony HT (2 years old and very basic)

I have a budget of about £300 to buy a new amp/reciever. I also need to connect a media PC via the DVI output.

Currently if we want to watch a dvd for example we have to manualy switch the HT box with the remote to DVD sound. Then obviously switch it back to watch sky.

Can I achieve the PC connection and the switching sound sources with a £300 budget . Can someone explain how the connecting would work for this set up ie what gets connected to what and what leads go in and out etc.
    Thanks
