    Guys,

I was hoping you could help.
I'm pretty new to all of this, so i apologise for my lack of knowledge......and also for the fact that you've probably been asked this question hundreds of times!! :)

Essentially i'm trying to break into the LCD TV scene and have been looking at a number of 17 inch models.
The name i continuously keep coming across is Relisys (more specifically the RLT1720 at around £290......sounds pretty good to me).

Does anyone know if this is any good and worth a purchase??

Also, i keep hearing that there are a number of things to keep in mind when choosing an LCD TV, for instance response time.
Please could someone outline any others and why they are important!

Any help, suggestions or advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know whether it is the same model (price and spec is similar) but I have viewed a 17" Relisys playing DVD material quite a bit recently. The DVD was Moulin Rouge so there was quite alot of fast movement and contrast but the Relisys made an admirable job. If I had one for occasional use, on the basis of what I saw, ie decent quality input, I would not be disappointed. Im not saying that it is fantastic, but for the price it would be worthwhile putting it on your shortlist for a final viewing. Not sure what it is like with poorer quality inputs or what reliability is like.

What about the Samsung 730MW at about £320 delivered. Better features & better picture for a little more ? I got mine next day from Ebuyer if it helps?

Thanks guys, sorry i didn't get back to you sooner.

The Samsung does look good, but i think i'm going to test drive the Relisys and see how it goes.

Apparently the JVC range is also very good.
Need also to get a progressive scan DVD player! Any ideas??

Cheers for all your help again.
Anymore advice or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks

I've been looking at the Relisys myself - would you recommend it for gaming?

Only thing I'd recommend it for was looking nice when it's turned off, compared to the Mikomi it's garbage, so get one of those or spend a bit more.
