I searched through here and found some good info on remotes and didnt know
anything.I always had those crappy one for all things that cost a tenner.
But my tv remote is going barmy and i have decided to buy a good remote.
I dont have much cash and cannot justify spend £100 on a remote.

So i have seen a sunwave lcd one for £40 and a one for all kameleon
for £40 in argos.Which is better.Help i want one quickly.

check out ebay - you can buy the kamaleon for about 40 quid...I got mine for 32 plus 12 p&p (from the US), but it's worth checking their list of codes to see if your equipment is compatible...
is seems to be better then the UK 6 in 1 - however, the small print says that it doesn't support goods outside the US etc...I've got everything to work except my nad c350, but I think I'll get this to work in the end...check out my other thread in in...

    delivery takes about 3-5 days.

    check out - http://electronics.listings.ebay.co...mZR4QQsacategoryZ15065QQsocmdZListingItemList

I don't know anything about the sunwave one tho...

    hope this helps

If you decide to buy a US made "One For All" remote, you really need to get yourself a JP1 cable also, as this will allow you to program all of your UK devices into it.

In fact, a JP1 cable is a wise investment for any compatible "One For All" remote as it lets you totally customise it to suit your needs.

PRC direct are selling a marantz rc1400 for £50. This has hard buttons and looks better than the kameleon to eyes.

There are several remotes from Sunwave. ( http://www.sun-wave.com )
I haven't had any of them, but from what I've read, they all have plenty of learning memory and can handle pretty much anything you throw at them, whereas the Kameleon (like all OneForAlls) is hampered by limited memory, although JP1 can get you around this.

At remotecentral, you can read about the UCommand remotes:
    http://www.remotecentral.com/ureview/index.html
On the outside, these are the same as the Sunwaves, however the Sunwaves have more power under the hood, including two LCD pages per device (as opposed to one page for the UCommands, one of the biggest criticisms against them) and I believe the Sunwaves also allow more devices.

IMHO you may save yourself a lot of aggro by paying a little bit more say £95 for a MX-500 rather than have a remote which you are not sure what buttons do for each bit of equipment. As Ishlin says, Remotecentral is a good place to start.

    Hi motty,

Those remotes look like what I have been after, could you say who does these in the UK? Preferably online but anything will do....
