    Hi all,

I have never owned an amplifier before and am wondering if it is even worth getting one given my situation. My dilemma is as follows...

I own the AE Aego P5 5.1 system with the decoder. I am thinking of ditching the decoder and connecting the 5.1 speakers to a new Denon amp using the pre-outs on the amp. Firstly, would there be any advantages in doing this i.e. extra decoding ability, better sound quality etc?

Also, I am thinking of buying a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s for Stereo CD playback from my Denon 2910. Would these speakers be suitable for an amp such as the Denon 2105?

Finally, would I be able to use the microphone set-up procedure if the speakers are connected through the pre-outs to the amp built into the Aego P5's sub?

Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated!
