Just in the throws of purchasing my first home cinema system,
and would like some advice with regards to AV amps.
I've read lots of reviews and threads on this subject, and it would appear that almost anything from Denon, Marantz or Pioneer would be good.
I'm looking to spend around £300 give or take £50, and wondered what you would recommend??
    Looking at:

    Denon 1604, 1804

    Marantz 4400, 5400, or even 5400se @ £389.95

    Pioneer VSX712, 812

    Thankx in advance,

    Ivor.

P.S. Forgot to say system will be for movie & tv use, as i have separate system for music. Will probably use kef eggs for speakers.

Tha Yamaha AX640 is also supposed to be good, around £300-£350.

I'm trying to decide between the Denon 1804 and Yamaha 640 for use with the eggs. Both seem to have their good points.

    Balders.

For movie and TV, the Yamaha is better compared to the Denon and the Marantz.

I have a Denon 1804 (HT) and Marantz 5300 (bedroom), used for both music and movies.

I also checked out the Yamaha before making my purchase, and the Yamaha is excellent on movies (I did not like the music though, quite warm for my taste).
