Recently baught a hdtv and a ps3. Now the next thing I am planning to buy in the next few weeks is a surround sound setup because the tv speakers are crap for bluray!

I was planning on going with a regular 5.1 surrond sound setup but now im looking to get a HD amp (with hdmi) for Hi-def surround sound. Ive noticed that Denon, Yamaha and Sony seem to be popular makes on here. Ive max 600-700 pounds to spend on the entire setup (amp, 5 speakers and sub). So what advice would you give me with regards what gear to get?

Also, if I buy an amp on its own, will I be able to connect any sub and speakers to it? What speakers and sub would you recommend for a hi-def amp?

The Denon 2307 is a great amp for the money and works fantastic with both movies (HD) & music.
Front speakers can be Bi-Amped also giving music some real nice depth.

Im using the Monitor Audio RS6 , RSLCR , RSFX , RSW12 (sub)
Its a real monster of a package and the sub is just mental.
Probably out of your range though , but if you are going to be using it for mainly HD movies , the sub should be a good 'un.

The speakers are way too expensive. Excellent setup tho
