Will there be a huge surge of fitness products appearing in the 'post pics of your recent purchases' thread over the coming days? A slew of Wondercore Smarts maybe?

Have you made a (sober or drunk) decision to change your life for the better in the New Year?

Maybe to join Rousey's 'Dry-anuary' ,a change of career or to visit somewhere you've always been meaning to?

I'm going to try and finish all the little jobs that I've been putting off over the last few months. We'll see how long that lasts though lol. :/

I never make resolutions, I can't personally see the point.

It's like people saying they are going to quit smoking and last three weeks.

I try to never make promises I can't keep ;)

I will be cutting back on the alcohol which (apart from Christmas/Boxing day) has already started.
Just lately I've had beers in the fridge that were more than 2 weeks old  Realized that the lovely drunk feeling was becoming harder to achieve but also resulting in worse hangovers. Not a good way to be.
Oh and also want to cut out sugar in my coffee/tea :smashin:

I don't normally bother with resolutions however I would like to find another job as the one I have makes me miserable. Something more AV focused would be nice rather than just being an electrician and doing all the crap chasing and wiring for the glory boys to turn up and connect it all. I want to be a glory boy!!

So the CV is going out to every AV firm I can find around my area

Good luck, years back I was doing a lot of AV wiring alongside my Fire & Security 1st fix's. I obviously got to be the glory boy on the Fire & Security but then the AV was done by others....
Fair few security companies now doing home automation etc so look at them too :smashin:

    Good idea, thank you.

After years of trawling round London and not being paid anymore than the guy who works constantly in a local town I have had enough! In some ways I am a victim of being the go to guy for technical things so I end up dealing with basic automation like the Lutron Grafik eyes, connecting patch panels and setting up CCTV systems (basic Hikvision ones), problem is I want to do more. I have had 16 years of chasing walls and crawling through lofts and I have had enough, I like to be challenged !

    anyway sorry for thread OT

I'm with you on all the little jobs to do. Got a new towel rail in the downstairs loo that's been in the packet for about 3 months now...only a 10 min job too [emoji15]

I've a few more odds and ends like that which just needs a day or 2 focus.

In terms of fitness equipment, I've a garage full of it (hardly used) which is supposed to be a gym conversion so that's lasts years resolution still waiting completion lol!

I got a shed in November though so once I build that I can move all the crap into that and get the gym sorted. Almost ready with aesthetics, lighting etc, just need to put a new floor in and it's good to go.

My favourite resolution is to play more golf and I would dearly love to. Life gets in the way though and the time just isn't there - no motivation required to get me on the golf course as I used to play several times a week and would even play on my own if nobody was around. I miss the game dearly and only play once a month now if I'm lucky :(

    Nowt.

Well, actually one thing. I'm going to stop adding to the digital landfill as much. I have Twitter and Facebook, I rarely use both but I'm going to use them less.

I'll still be spouting bobbins on forums though... yay! :)

    1. As every year, try and improve my diet and try and cut out comfort eating (at work, mainly).
    2. Stop sending Xmas cards to people who have stopped sending them to me, despite knowing me for over 30 years. I doubt if they don't send cards at all, so I assume it's something with me.
    3. Stop replying to short emails from so-called friends with long emails. They don't respond in kind and often don't respond at all.

#s 2 and 3 are nice and simple. #1 less so. I usually start off well, but lapse after a few weeks or months.

I've never understood the point in new years resolutions. It's the same as people who say they are giving up smoking after a certain date. Just give up now. Putting it back is just an excuse.

Or the old classic- 'I'll start the diet after Christmas. There's no point starting now with all the food'

Of course there is a point in starting a diet.

Delaying something until the next day/week/month/year means you have failed already because you've started the resolution with an excuse.

Start up your own business installing av stuff instead of working for someone else. That's a decent resolution.

I'm going to start running a couple of times a week with the aim to drop my resting heartrate to 65 or lower. That's my resolution.

I don't really have any resolutions, I just take each day as it comes really. We (as a family) are starting the year on a downer so I'm hoping things can only get better from here!

I may look at changing jobs later this year, I'm starting to get itchy feet at work but I'm not sure what I want to do going forward.

Otherwise my main aim is to get myself a flat or house so that I move out of my parents spare room.

I suppse if I had to pick a single resolution then I'd say that I must try to hate people less.

    Drink less and eat better.

Im quite happy with most other aspects, last year I made a concerted effort to work a bit less and spend every minute of my extra time with the kids, that's been a great success.

Adding a bit more structure to my life, taking time to read a bit more, schedule in gaming time family film time etc, even just getting out for more walks and fresh air. Working from home makes me a bit of a recluse at times.
