New Yamaha S2700 - Help

I have just taken delivery of a new Yamaha S2700 but the box has been opened and re-sealed. The plastic bags for the cables and remote have been opened. I have spoken to Digitech and they say they have no more.

Of most concern to me is that there are 2 threaded holes in the underneath cover that have no bolts in them. These 2 holes are near the rear left foot, looking from the front. Has this been back for repair?

If anyone has a S2700, I would really appreciate knowing if theirs have these 2 threaded empty holes or not.

Thanks
Ernest

Thanks for the info. I have not connected the S2700 as I intend to return it as "not new" if proved so. The credit card has put the full amount in dispute. I paid Digitech £294 for it.

I also got the YSP-30D for £596 but the box has not been opened (has inserted metal clips both top and bottom that cannot be opened without showing). Have just opened it and all looks pristine, big sigh of relief.

Once again, thanks for checking. Now waiting to hear back from Yamaha Technical.

Get a refund then buy it from amazon for 250 with a free QED hdmi cable via peter tyson comes with a 2 year warranty, so far very impressed especially with cd playback as i wanted a player that can do both well.

Having spoken with Yamaha tech support, they say it best to return unit to supplying dealer. The dealer has no further units nor can they get from Yamaha, so they say they will refund in full. I will be ordering from another dealer, no bad thing.

I too have gone for this model as I am particularly keen to get a dvd player with quality cd playback. I will pass direct audio into my ancient Sansui AU-719 and KEF 104 ABs.

I am curently taking my time to replace the speakers (pmc fb1i ?) and then maybe the amp, but that is another story.
