    EDIT 02 June 2003

I have it on good authority that the units that AV-Sales are shipping are indeed the new models and I also undrstand they have a fantastic (read: unbeatable) price on them too. (Too late for me )

Anyone sitting on the fence and looking for a top class LCD at a low end price give Liam a call (01892 535007) before they all go :)

You heard it here first and I have no doubt that UK stock will be limited so AV Forums members have first stab. Go get 'em!

    Neil

I was chatting to TheRitz earlier, while im not very familier with the various CRTs, I could tell he was trying to hold drool back due to the serious piece of kit you were expecting. Sorry to hear the other deal did not go as planned, but I get the impression you are well happy with whatever is coming now:)

Look forward to the showcase/shootout... whatever it turns out to be:)

I have applied to Epson to bring down a demo unit one afternoon in the next few weeks, it will be on very short notice but as soon as I know i'll post here and anyone is welcome to come and have a butchers!

Just to confirm though, we are now shipping the 800:1 contrast model (and our special offer is on it too!)

FYI it shows it as 700:1 on the Homeprojector page but if you look at the Video Data projector link it shows it as 800:1

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the heads up Messiah.

Great! Another one in the pot. :)

Think that's the one to replace my (as good as) dead VW10HT. Nice long warranty too.

AE300 - Not happy with the lower res. on a 106' screen.
HS10 - Too long a throw. Cannot fill the whole 106'.
HT1000 - Paying for unused pixels.
VW12HT - Current winner (Until your post).

New TW100 looks good. Projector central gives it a top review too.

Guess I'm going to have to buy blind as any demo will probably be the old one :(

Starts thinking about how to adapt my VW10HT ceiling mount.

    Oh, Mr bank manager......

I got the TW100H and its very good..
Have had it for 3-4 months now.. and so far no problems at all.
Its an LCD so the black is the only thing thats not on top but colors is really amazing..

I got an Euroscreen greyline screen to get a litle bit better blacklevel and it works just fine for me.

I really thinks this is the best LCD right now (for sensible money).
So for us that cant live with rainbow effects and the noice betwene the panels on a DLP this is the projector to go for!.
    :D

The H model has DREAM PANEL 3!!

From what I've heard it sounds like it ought to be. Apparently Epson offloaded a bunch of stock which included some of the upgraded TW100H's.

Best bet is to ring and ask them to check the part codes (if they have stock).

I think I'd have bought one of these... came too late for me... already have my Yamaha LPX-500 on order :(

The noise... and the throw works better for me. Also, you can't ignore the excellent write-ups that the LPX and the TW100 receive. No brainer I reckon.

Is it just me, or did Messiah yesterday tell us about the new TW100 (high contrast) at a great (just over 3K) price at av-sales ?

Now Fjorko has mentioned that shootandshow (nexnix ?) have it for 1889 (ex-vat).

Just looked on av-sales and they've dropped it to 2220 (inc vat and delivery) too. And updated the text to state that it is the new model.

What price will it be tomorrow ? :D

Damn. av-sales will only ship to cardholders address. I work 9-5:30. There's not going to be anyone there

I did say AV-Sales had them but said re price

"...they have a fantastic (read: unbeatable) price on them too."

which has since dropped by another couple of hundred pounds. Amazing how quickly this market moves.

Who's gonna be first to buy one then?

And I got tears in my eyes!!

Good for those that are about to buy one but not so good for us that already have bought it...

Totaly destroys the used market price..

    So tempted......

Still have a hankering for the 12HT for some strange reason... might crack before too long... a couple of weeks without a PJ is making my 28inch TV look big again:).

If it was £2K, I would jump at it... being a uk model and all...

What is it with some people. This wa sa genuine £3600 only a week or less ago and will likley go back up to a similar price when all the units (by all accounts an Epson error) have been sold.

And people still want another £200 off. Don't know a bargain when they see one :zonked: :suicide:

I'm tempted to buy one and just hang on to it for a week or two based on the premise that the price will go back up to around 3k. That's a tidy profit for somebody  if you are willing to risk it....!

    Vexorg,

The 12HT would suit me too. I had a 10HT for 18 months and loved it until it died.

It has the same throw and footprint as the 10HT so I could simply take down the dead one and put up the new one.

But the things that swung me toward the TW100 is

3 year warranty (Well peeved when the Sony died after only 400 hours and I'd have to pay over £1500 to get it fixed).

Reviews both on this forum and elsewhere have said the TW100 is a better PJ. Even to the point where I've bought blind.

    Cheaper than the Sony :D

    Smaller and less intrusive.

DVI if I ever go the HCPC route.

BTW The price has already gone back up. I Got in there at the lower price. Really happy now :D :D :D :D

Just Greedy I guess.. I want it all and I want it for free practically...

In two minds... would really like to see a DLP in action first.... but as you say by then the only way to get that price is via pricejapan...

    Sigh... :)
