New tv setup

Standard Member

Just bought a new Panasonic tx-p50gt30b to which I want to connect a Yamaha ysp-5100 soundbar, an Xbox, ps3 and a Panasonic dump-bdt110 DVD player.

Should I run all of the hdmi connections though the soundbar with one lead going to the tv or run everything up to the tv with one going back to the soundbar.

Thanks for your help.

It is capable of HD audio, so I would just connect everything directly. If you routed the sources via the TV, you would miss out on HD audio from the PS3 and Bluray player. This way you'll get to use the sound bar as a hub/switch as well. The TV will pass audio via the ARC enabled HDMI connection to get audio from the TV tuner etc. anyway.
