Who else on here thinks New Tricks is one of the best drama series's the BBC has produced in years. I think the reason for its success is for a number of reasons -

    1) It has a format that works.

    2) It is brilliantly written and very witty.

    3) It has an all star studded cast, three actors and one actress the audience like. Alun Armstrong, James Bolam, Dennis Waterman and Amanda Redman are all professional and its not very often these days that you get a programme with four all rounders in it.

    4) The characters of Brian Lane, Jack Halford, Gerry Standing and Sandra Pullman are brilliantly created, Gerry Standing been my favourite.

At this moment in time it is one of my favourite programmes on television. What are other people's views on New Tricks.
