Steve - hang around the forums, read a few posts - you'll soon find out what's available for your money.

Probably the most popular reply you'd get to your question above would be "spend an extra £500 and buy a Panasonic PW6" (inc. stand, connection boards etc.).

There are plasmas out there for £1,800 odd - but most people on these forums think the PW6 is worth the extra money.

No matter what plasma screen someone on here recommends, somebody else will have an issue with it.

Best to go and have a look in the shops before you decide.

NEC VP4 price has tumbled to under £1800, or save up more dollar for the Panasonic. Panasonic offers blacker blacks, NEC gives the better colour reproduction and more sockets! But remember you will need to budget for mount/stand, cables, and these plasma monitors do not include speakers so you will need your own sound system or a set of (ugly!) speakers for the plasma.

If you are looking for a plasma television (something with teletext, built in tuner, speakers etc) then you will need to up your budget. Browse around these forums and pick up on other threads where people have asked the same sort of question.

Happy browsing and welcome to the forums!!
