    Hi,
Please would someone help me on this issue.
    I have a X64 3000+mhz pc with 512 ram and 200 gig HD, with *8/4 -/+ dvd writer.
    running Windows XP home edition.

I am completely new to burning DVD.
I am trying to burn from Studio 9 to a DVD+Rw disk using a short sequence of 5 mins. When I choose to make a disk to dvd using studio 9, the process always stops at about 80% of the process. The PC just sits there for ages!.

I have burned short test sequnces to DVD using Sonic DVD with no problems.

1)I would like to know the correct way to burn DVD's from scratch, should I let Windows XP burn the format & DLA the disk or find another programme? or i is there something else I should be doing?

    2) I would like to use Studio 9 for the whole editing process to DVD, or should I just be using it to edit and convert the final cut to MPEG and use a different application to burn to DVD?

    I also have Premeire 6.5.

I would also appreciate to know basics of formating and setting up dvd etc.

Many thanks for any feed back.

    Hi blue2225,

Am in a similar situation to you as I have recently began to get into videoediting and DVD authoring. Found this site www.videohelp.com which has loads of useful information on - check out the menus on the left. They don't seem to rate Pinnacle Studio very highly, going more for TMPEGenc DVD author and Ulead MediaStudio or Video Studio.

    Good Luck

Have you upgraded Studio9 to the latest version? (use the update feature to check)

The latest patch can solve many problems.

I had this problem until I stopped 'InCD'. For some reason, Studio didnt like it running in the background.

Studio doesnt like anything running in the background.

Do a Google for a free program called end it all - this shuts down all background tasks with 1 click.

PS This is in the Studio 9 help file but its buried!

Sorry to be a 'killjoy' but End it All is no longer a 'freebie' - apparently stopped for legal reasons. Shame!!
