I am looking to embark on the world of 5.1/home cinema for the first time. My system is an Advent HTPC and a Panasonic TX32LXD500 32' LCD. My use is probably split 40/60 between music/AV.

I am looking at ordering a Denon AVR-1906 amplifier to add my system.

Now I need speakers. I am looking to get the front speakers first, rather than attempting to buy the whole surround system. Basically, I am looking for recommendations for front speakers for such a system.

Budget is about £300. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

If it were me I'd think about spending £100 more on the amp and £100 less on the speakers. Because I think £300 front speakers aren't going to be used to their best effect with a £300 AV amp. Have a look at the Wharfedale Diamonds maybe.
