As title really
i wonder what marvels are in store for us soon
You beat me to it! I was just about to type exactly the same title
No links, and all the Tag marketing is off when you connect through to the TMA support page.
Was looking for the white paper on the DPA 32R for someone, when I suddenly discover it's not there anymore. Anyone got a copy?
You will also notice on every page (well the one's I have seen), there is no reference to Tag, except for the pictures
dont forget that IAG have lost the use of the TMA name.
Hence my earlier comment....
Also, there's now an Audiolab stereo site that I stumbled on via the IAG home page. It says Autumn for the launch......
DPA32R white paper:
Search this forum - there is a link - or PM me for the .pdf.
Seriously unimpressed with the Audiolab page - looks a little "plastic-y"; and doesn't suit silver- give me the black stuff anyday!
Interesting to note that it looked like a 8000Q (with RC) on 4 8000MX's - I thought 2 channel was becoming less popular, and that TAG didn't sell many 125M's; so I'm suprised to see (what resembles)a pile of monoblocks from a "new" brand!
I am sure they know what they are doing
Of course, but it is an interesting observation, and I wonder what the price-point will be.
There was a thread about the silver gear a while ago now, pointing to these pages to see better pics:
I think you'll get what I meant by my signiture now - the units are a step back in time with a new paint job and will be built in China. Only time will tell us what they're like build-wise, but the pictures don't look too great...
http://www.iaguk.com/tma/ is still live
The photo of inhards of the 8000S looks EXACTLY the same as my 1996 vintage Audiolab 8000S. Would be interesting to know if the inhards of a 60iR look the same too.
When I feel like it, I'll open my TAG 100P to compare with the new 8000P.
I believe the cut off date for using the TAG brand name is the 25th...
Save yourself the effort Luis
I have heard it directly from a man who knows the insides of Audiolabs that it's exactly the same...... just built in China.... and from what quality of components exactly I can't tell....
At the risk of making a comment that should appear in a sticky... the web site does seem to have been changed but there is no QA on the webmaster's work - there are still lots of references to TAG in the copy even if the headings have been changed.
Just pray the QA on the product is better.
Like I said they have until the 25th.... I know a lot of stuff purged of TAG references is sitting waiting in the wings....
I see the AV equipment is still called AvantGarde and are they going to do black, the silver looks very tacky
I have heard on the QT that all the components are the same superior quality one used by TMA. Its just that its built in China
Its the "just built in China" bit that bothers me as QC isn't that hot in certain plants, rather like comparing the paint job on a Cech BMW with a German paint job, same car, same bits, just........ I sincerely hope that IAG have very tight checks in place to ensure no-one can tell the difference or a lot of highly skilled people in QC putting them right.... Time will tell..... The good news is that prices can only fall (hopefully dramatically) as a result of Chinese production line costs.
The TAG pictures are still the originals....... No offical word at all on future colours or names apart from them obviously being called AudioLab...... I assume the pictures will change as well as the descriptions (which still mention TAG) very very shortly.....
here in the front page, you can still see the TAG logo:
Graham, I dont see that just because its built in China makes it poorer quality. They have very skilled work forces. It all depends on who IAG employ to do the work. As for German cars, well I'd rather have a Jap one any day
Audiolab in silver....
Good summary Mark....
I saw these images a while ago, hence the comment in my signiture.
Burgy100 - where have you seen the kit in black? I've only found photos of AudioLab badged silver units.
I hav'nt, I just hope they have the sense to do them in black
Cheers for the clarification Steve
Mmmm. If anyone stumbles on pictures of the kit in black, let me know please. I haven't seen any yet, and it was a while ago that they were revealed now, and still no confirmation.
If the Tag stuff is off the shelves on the 25th, what are IAG going to be selling in between then and Autumn?
I'm sure they'll have more than enough to keep them going repairing all the broken units!
And when you think about their web precence and lack of infomation who would buy new units off them at the moment anyway
But if they have anymore DP to sell then i want one
I only said I hope QC is good....... I didn't say it was going to be crap...... Some Chinese plants we have had stuff from are frankly not what you would expect from a hi end brand, the quality of the plant is made or broken by their QC people and what they let them get away with...... I am sure IAG personel will take a baseball bat with them to China to ensure the components are of the highest quality, if they ain't well I'll notice........ Mind you having seen some howlers with the british built TAG units, I am awaiting the new units with some interest.....
I also agree Jap cars that I have had were all much better built than the German equivalents........Don't get me started on that one.....
Separate names with a comma.
