There may well be a work around for CS on these boxes, involving having the box connected to a pc at all times, the same as you can do on the technomate 1500, but it`s not a good solution.
IF I was into CS, I would wait for a HD version of the 9100, or the new (?mythical) HD dreambox.

weve got the the HD TM-6900 instock now waiting for new stocks to arrive. Ive set the TM-6900 up and been using it since Monday, it took me 15 mins from opening the box patchig it and installing it..so simple! basically its TM-1500 software in a HD box and I must say HD is superb on this box. I even copied my channel list from the 1500 to the 6900. You can patch and add a channel list using a USB pen drive and it takes a few seconds. it is PVR ready but you have to connect an external USB hard drive to it.

    Regards

you can BBC HD channel no problem as far as sly HD channels nope, you can use your sly card with a Dragon\T-Rex in the 6000 series, I dont subscribe to sly HD so I havent tried. I've watched the Premiere HD channels watched the footy the other night superb mate! One other thing you cant get 4:2:2 feeds either.

    Cheers

Would any external USB Hard Drive, like say the 250gig Lacie that I have, work with this?

Also, do I understand it right that this would be compatible with the TM1500 patches?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Orbital,

Is that definite that you cannot get the 4.2.2 feeds?

Also, what is meant by "sensitive tuner", ie, how low a threshold will it go to and produce a picture?

Is there a blind scan on this receiver?or will it take a life time for a blind scan to finnish?just like the tm 1500?Going into the Hd world i feel a receiver should do 4.2.2. today @ least anyway.I know the vantage has a more sensitive tuner than the tm 1500;) when it comes to feeds iv been @ this a very long time.It will be intresting to know what the new tm Hd can realy do.

no blindscan on it but the tuner is good to be honest, yes theese hd recievers should have 4.2.2 but apparently not even the lygnbox is going to do this.

    I thought I'd give my 2pence:

I got the TM-6900 COMBO the other day and must say it's a fantastic piece of kit. The menu is like my TM-1000D+ Super so it is very easy to use. BBC HD and Premiere HD works amazingly too. The picture quality certainly blew me away!

Freeview looks a tonne better than the one built-in to my plasma.

The 'special' software works like a charm (wink).

It can't do 4:2:2 or Blind Search, but no HD receiver out now can do them so I'm not disappointed.

I've found the tuner to be better than my TM-1000D+ Super as it's holding onto the weaker birds a lot better.

I'm using a 160GB Freecom HDD as it does not require any power.

    All the best,
    wellop

If you shop around, you can get a good deal.

I've seen people selling the Topfield HD for £250 and that doesn't have half of what the TM-6900 COMBO has so I'm pleased.

I was looking at the HD5000 but I was told by email from a dealer in Germany who sells both that the TM-6900 COMBO is better as it has better hardware, so I went for that.

Combo idea is useless to me, no terrestrial around here and even I did any new tv has DVB-T tuner built in anyway and the receivers are what 10 quid.

Possibly good for Irish people mind you with their terrestrial HD trial which is currently free to air from what I've read otherwise what's the point.

The Arion looks the best value for money and built quality I believe, then possibly the Fortec Passion.

If that's the TM-4100 Combo (if my memory serves me correctly), this is in a different league as it's HD and upscaled Freeview.

    Remlap, I have to disagree.

The TM-6900 Combo is a lot more value for money as you can patch it, has a Smart Card Reader and has the brilliant USB PVR. None of those HD receivers have these features.

So think about it. You have to buy a Cam and a Programmer which will cost about £100, so you're better off getting the Technomate HD, and it has USB PVR too!

And you support a British company!

And I have to disagree with you.

I have everything you mentioned there in other equipment, why would I want a PVR for multi satellite hardly anyone provides a full EPG except the Germans.

Support a barely British company, all their receivers are produced in China.

Arion is a piece of class, this thing is just botched together get it out as quick as possible, waste of money.

To me you just sound like a fanboy who wants to get free tv.

Fair play for supporting a British company.

Though everything the TM does so does the Clarke CT 5000 HD and as most people like to save money, Clarke a lot better value box.

Please, would someone confirm that the hacks used for the TM 1000/1500 would be compatable with this machine, as I already own a 1000 (great machine) but want to upgrade to HD.
