    Hi Im new here.

I am pricing up some systems at the moment and came accross these two bargins (i think).

Would the following two items make a good system together?

    TEAC 550

    Limit HC602

Saving at richer sounds is £750 on a system costing £700 in total (thats over 50% discount)

    Too good to miss?

Don't pay any attention to Richer's savings.

Neither item would be on my shopping list -

I'm guessing you want shiny little speakers so kef eggs would be far better - sevenoaks have dropped the price of these to £600 (and 7oaks will usually give a bit if you haggle) & amp wise well any £250 amp from Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, Yamaha or Sony would probably outperform the Teac. You'll find the eggs on this page.

The Teac system is good if you are wanting something smaller than normal though wilber ... but I agree ... mate it with Eggs if you can afford it.

to be honest the look of them was only a bonus. If other speakers are better for the price then I would prefer them.

What would you suggest for approx £700 that includes all that the other setup had (amp, DVD player, receiver + full speaker package)

    Hi Moid
Have a look at the yamaha htr5550 receiver £259 from richer sounds also toshiba silver sd520 multiregion dvd player £200 from richer sounds and if you could stretch your budget a little and get the mission cinema70 pack in silver (5 speakers and active sub)£333 from qed.com you would have a far better system than the one above and i know it would be a great first home cinema system.
    Hope this helps.
