New system. Need advice.

Standard Member
I'm trying to put together something to start with for music that will later be used for theater. The system will go into my apartment which is very open. I'm wanting to initially invest around 500 dollars and want good sound quality. Here is what I'm looking at.

Onkyo TXSR505

Infinity PS28 8" 150-watt Powered Subwoofer x1

Infinity Primus 152 Each Bookshelf/Stand Mount x2

Welcome to the forums

I'd say that is a reasonable starting point, although I would suggest going a little bit higher in the sub or amp area, if at all possible.
By that I mean go up to an Onkyo 605/6 or move up to an SVS PB10 NSD sub.

My reasoning is that you will get better results when it comes to HT at a later date and upgrading will work out to be that little bit less costly.

Whilst not wishing to put you off coming to these forums (and you're very welcome), you should be aware that this is a UK site.
The very similarly named American site may give you more informed opinons.

We're not allowed to link to similar sites on here, so I'll PM you the one you want :smashin:
