New system help.

I am at the stage where i am going to be buying an all in one system very soon.

I currently have a PS3 and 32" D3000 tv, and was thinking of going for either the sony ddw890, or the ddw790, will probably stick to 5.1 tbh (unless 6.1 is worth the extra?)

I am also planning an xbox 360 soon, so am wondering will i be ok to connect everything up to the system?

With all due respect -

You already own a PS3, which is capable of playing back SD DVDs upscaled, and even playing back BluRay DVDs. And you are considering buying an XBox 360, which is also capable of playing back upscaled SD DVDs. And will require a second connection to whichever surround sound system you are going to buy.

So why on earth are you considering buying an all-in-one? Do you really need to have that third DVD player, which won't upscale and won't be capable of playing back Blu-Ray or even HD DVDs, when you've already got one (and will soon have two) boxes which are far better at the job than your all-in-one will be.

Why don't you save some money and buy a proper surround system which has enough inputs to allow you to connect your PS3, your XBox, your digital TV source (Sky/Freeview/cable/whatever), your video, your telly and anything else that you might buy in the future? Rather than limiting yourself to buying something which gives you a third, crappy DVD player and will almost certainly not allow you to connect everything that you want to connect to it?

When said like this it makes no sense to buy an all in one.

The main reason i was going to go for an all in one was i thought it was the only option i could go for.

Is it alot more expensive to go for separates?

As far as I know it's a lot cheaper to go for separates. Because you are spending money purely on audio components, rather than audio components plus a DVD player.
