Last night I saw that CNX was advertising new series coming to that channel next month.
One of them is Birds of Prey, this series is based in a DC comic of the same name. All the heroes are female and it will bring together Batgirl SPOILER (as Oracle the computer genius, something big happens in the first episode which Batman fans no doubt know why), Huntress, Black Canary or may be know just as Dinah.
Mark Hamill will appear as the Joker rather than just is voice as in the cartoons.

For some details go here http://us.imdb.com/Title?0312098 but most of the reviews don’t like it much.

That’s the one Shoka, I think they did a 4 parter then something like a mini-series of the girls.
I do not think they use the same costumes though. I would love to have seen Black Canary in her original costume.

I’m sure it what was coming in May when CNX advertised it last night. I will have to have an other look to night and see if it mentions it again.

No I think they have changed the costume worst luck. To think they let kids (and big kids) read mags like that.

I'm glad they changed it to be honest, I mean WW is bad but the Silver Age Black Canary was *really* sexist.

I don’t know WW costume was the best thing about the show apart from what filled it. :D
Nothing like a bit of being un-PC. ;)

This probably should be in its own thread, but CNX is also going to be showing the hot FX cop drama "The Shield" in May.

Looks like CNX might be serious about being a good channel afterall. :)

I've recently started watching CNX for latenite Spawn:cool: Used to watch it uncut on Bravo but the damn logo of theirs...
Now I find myself watching Cowboy Be Bop etc. all in that Spawn slot and it's like being a teen again in the comic shop:smoke:
Spawn (R2) the series is coming to dvd but at a fiddler price:rolleyes:
Birds of Prey looks interesting but I bet they kid-it-up too much, as it would otherwise be great to have an later teen/adult series. Still, let's hope they've managed a compromise like Smallville.
Oh and it'll be nice to see Mark Hamill in something other than playing the role of Cock Knocker.

Intrigued by comments on the forum and at my son's insistance I watched some CNX when I got home from a late shift last night.

Harvey Birdman:attorney of law, made me laugh so hard I couldn't catch my breath. This is a hidden gem for me. I will definitely watch more CNX.

I'm quite looking forward to Birds of Prey on Tuesday. But was saddened to note on tvtome that there is only 13 of them, due to studio canning, and that some of the cast are elsewise engaged now. Typical. No doubt we'll see this pop up on C4 late at some stage. Oh well, 13 is better than naught.

Did any body watch this last night?

They seemed to have mucked about a bit with some of the characters.
The Huntress was not Carwoman’s daughter and even so if she was just that her mother was called Catwoman does not make you half cat.

I did watch it Garrett and thought it was a bit contrived/convoluted. But then it was only a pilot so amybe it'll sort itself out, as some are dire but come good. Makes me wonder what the unaired pilot was like - maybe it's downloadable...
They play on the half cat aspect heavily in this, so that may peeve a lot of fans. But then I guess they wanted some angle to make it a bit different.
The bit that annoyed me too was when Mia Sara (growl!) kicked Ketterly in the asylum he seriously flinched to one side - continuity!

I do not know if it is repeated before the next episode as it was screened again at midnight.

Next week at 9pm on Tuesday for the next episode.

I’ve just had a look for you and it is repeated Friday at 9pm and midnight.

The above stand for the next episode.

I enjoyed this weeks better than last week with the introduction of that meta-human, but surprise, surprise SPOILER
they just happen to be carrying flame throwers in that shipment of arms, hands up all who though soon as the mentioned them that they would be used against the villain.

I don’t like Mia Sara’s hair and Diana reminds me of Toya Batersby.
Still enjoyed it anyway and look forward to next week’s story.

Didn't see this on CNX, but watched it a few weeks ago on a VCD and it was quite clear that Huntress is Catwoman's daughter. SPOILER At the start of the episode you see her leaning over the body of a woman who is identified on the news broadcast as being business woman Selina Kyle, rumoured to have been the jewel thief known as Catwoman.

As to the half-cat powers SPOILER Huntress is a meta-human.

The version I saw also had Sherylin Fenn kicking the guy in the asylum. Could this possibly be the unaired pilot?

Sounds like you do the_pauley as I don't think it's cut on CNX.
I think Garrett was referring to in the comics to the tv that poetic licence has been used.
Anyway, I liked Dina Meyer in Nemesis - looked quite tastie.
Maybe a catoon would've been better, but then the lusty Huntress would be missed:devil: :smoke:

Your right that’s what I was referring to.

Dina Meyer:smashin: Liked her since I first saw here in Starship Troopers as Dizzy Flores even before the shower sequence. :smoke: I thought Reco was after the wrong woman.
