Hi chaps, my onkyo subwoofer connected to my Onkto TX-NR509 Amp has died today and in search for a new subwoofer. I have a budget of £150. Can anyone recommend whats good out there to buy for that budget of cash. I am a little confused. So far I have been looking at:

    Wharfedale SW150
    Tannoy SFX Sub
    Tannoy HS101

have a look at BK electronics subwoofers. they are very highly recommended on here.
when i buy another subwoofer again it would definately be a BK. i own a SW150 and use it on my home cinema and its great but im just saving for a new sub for my hifi which will be a BK XLS200DF. then i will more than likely change the SW150 for a BK also.

I have Had a Rel q200e for many years with my set up, still in my opinion for the size a great little sub
£500 was a lot of money then, you can see them go for around £160 if in good condition.

I made the mistake in the past of buying a lower priced Sub, and I subsequently regretted the decision. When my cheap and nasty sub finally failed I purchased a BK Gemini as suggested in the earlier reply, and it was well worth the extra expense. If you say a BK Gemini is outside your budget I would suggest holding back on your purchase and save until you can afford the cost of the BK Gemini. Learn from my past mistake!

If that's it as far as your budget is concerned! then I would go with the wharfedale SW150

@yoda...i have been saying for many years here that the "human race" sucks ! why ?
simply because i can't understand why people like to buy "CRAP" ! Why on earth would you buy a rubbish sub ? AS for 20-30£ more (used condition) you can get a GEMINI that will crush any sub 300£ product ?

You guys are incredible...but hey everyone does what they want with their money...
